The agent automatically discovers and collects various types of monitoring data from your servers. This page provides an overview of the core data types collected.

Host Information

The agent collects essential information about your host machine to provide context for all metrics and logs:
  • Hostname
  • Operating system
  • Platform: Name of the OS distribution (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS)
  • Platform family: High-level OS family (e.g., Debian, RHEL)
  • Platform version: Version of the distribution (e.g., 22.04)
  • Kernel version: Version of the system kernel
  • CPU architecture
  • Agent version: Version of the simob agent running on the host.
Host information is collected once during initialization and updated when the agent is restarted or updated.

  • Service health: Confirms the agent is operational
  • Uptime tracking: Monitors continuous operation
